NG09: 'POSTHUMAN' BOOK LAUNCH AT THE GSD

Feb 07, 2018

UTL researchers Mariano Gomez-Luque and Ghazal Jafari recently launched their new edited volume, New Geographies 09: Posthuman, in a gathering at the Harvard GSD Loeb Library. Continuing the tradition of cutting-edge research at the intersection between geography and design in the ongoing New Geographies project, this volume surveys the urban environments shaping the more-than-human geographies of the early 21st century. Seeing design as a geographical agent deeply involved in the territorial engravings of contemporary urbanization, New Geographies 09 interrogates the meaning of concepts such as 'nature', 'technology', 'the urban' and that of 'design intelligence' itself, embracing the “planetary” as the ultimate spatiotemporal stage of the posthuman condition.

The volume is available to purchase through Amazon.
