Grga Bašić is a designer, researcher, and cartographer. His work draws together approaches from urbanism, media, digital art, and journalism. Prior to joining UTL-Chicago, he held academic appointments at the Center for Spatial Research and the Center for Resilient Cities and Landscapes at Columbia University. He holds a Master in Design Studies degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and both Bachelor and Master of Architecture degrees from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. His cartographic work has been commissioned and exhibited widely, most recently by the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain and the Venice Biennale of Architecture.
